Tewkesbury Baptist Church

Loving God, Loving People

Meet the Team

ShaneShane Roche

Shane originally started attending Tewkesbury Baptist Church as a child when he joined the boy Covie group. He left Tewkesbury to pursue other interests and careers but returned to his roots to take the role of Church Leader starting in April 2018.

Dave Hobbs

Dave is an Elder at TBC.  "I have been involved within the fellowship since 1974 when Chris (my wife) and myself moved to Tewkesbury after getting married. We have seen our three children grow up through the church. My main passion in all that time has been the young peoples work and in particular the boy Covie group. It has been a delight to share Jesus with so many boys down the years, and an even greater joy to see many go on and serve the Lord either within our own church or elsewhere. My prayer is very much that the Lord will touch the hearts of those who have heard down the years but have yet to respond. As an Elder and trustee of the church I feel I am in a very privileged position in the Lord's service."

Pete IrelandPete Ireland

Pete is an Elder at the church, he joined the fellowship in 1987 when the family moved to Tewkesbury from Bristol.  He worked for many years in leading the Sunday School team and helping with the Boy Covie group. Pete is married to Anita and they have three grown up children (Hannah, Grace and Tom) who all grew up in the TBC church family. Pete is passionate about mission and together with Anita and Grace established a small Christian charity (Village of Hope and Grace) that supports orphan children in Tanzania with education, practical help and spiritual guidance.  ‘I love the church and want to help it reach out to our community so that more people will be able to experience God’s love and have their lives transformed’

Jo GoodchildJo Goodchild

Jo is the Children and Young People's (CYP) Coordinator at TBC. "I've been attending the church since I was 14 years old and have been involved in youth or children's work in some way since I was 16.  I started working as the CYP coordinator in September 2012 and love it! I am married to John and we have three daughters, and church is our extended family. My hope is to see children and young people in this church to become part of the church family, contributing to church life, forming valuable relationships with the older members, and to see their lives on fire for Jesus as we all 'do life' together."
