Gower Camp 2008!

Another great camp for the Covie Boys - the boys spent 6 days at the Gower from 23-28 May.  The weather may not have been perfect but the the boys had great fun, and God was there with them in all the activities, the quiet times and the worship.

Thanks to everyone who made this possible!

Hope on the Streets - 10 May 2008

A massive thank you to all who spent their Saturday clearing ditches, painting faces, feeding the people, bouncing the children, mending fences, .... acts of kindness .... giving hope to Tewkesbury ... in Jesus' name.

It was great to see that over 100 people signed up for an hour or more to help in the task, and what a difference it made: paths were cleared; flower beds filled; fences restored; 18 bikes and several supermarket trolleys rerieved from the Swillgate.  Many local residents joined in the fun on a glorious sunny day .should have used some sun screen Vince!

Good Friday - March of Witness

Several hundred Christians from the very young to the more mature braved the cold to march through our town this Good Friday to bear witness to the central theme of our faith - that Jesus died for each and everyone of us.

All the local churches joined in the march.  The cross was carried through the town to the beat of a drum. After a short service on the Abbey Lawn the marchers were rewarded with a cup of tea and a hot cross bun!

The Challenge of Burma

Family Quiz Night is a Great Hit

Saturday 1st March

19 teams had a great fun in a keenly fought quiz night.  It wasn't the winning but the taking part that was important!!! (That’s what I decided after our team 'Whatever' finished way off the top!)

The quiz raised £42 to support the Covie sponsored boys - Rajab in Uganda and JR in the Philippines.  Fun and practical support - well done everyone!

The quiz is held every year so look out next February / March time for your opportunity to show off what you know.

Great turnout for 21st Celebration

Sunday 18 November 2007

About 200 people came and joined the celebration of the 21st birthday of our 'new' building at Sation Road.  It was great to see so many friends, old and new.  There was a celebration tea, starting at 4.30 followed by a short sevice.
